Abstract

The aim of this study was to analyze the selected words as more frequent among four phonological assessments available in Brazilian Portuguese, and of these, check which words do part of the basic vocabulary of children and the sound classes of greater occurrence. We analyzed the words that make up the AFC tests, ABFW, REALFA and AVALIE, being considered as the most frequent occurring in at least three of the four tests. Of the words analyzed, most part belongs to basic vocabulary of children, as with respect to classes of sounds, they, in general, followed the order of phonological acquisition. Thus, the evaluators should be aware that you can verify in evaluating all the phonemes in all positions. In addition, the therapist has a key role in the selection of stimulus words targeting the later success in speech therapy.
