Abstract

The purpose of this study was to verify the effectiveness of therapy with favorable words with the fricative /ʒ/ and therapeutics evolution, as possibilities of structural generalizations obtained after treatment. To this research were select 4 kids with phonological disorders, without other alterations that interfere with speech. These subjects were treated with “ABAB Withdrawal and Multiple Probes” Model. Two of these kids were treated with not favorable words and two with favorable words. These kids were submitted to periodical evaluation to verify the therapeutics evolution and effectiveness of the words selected. With these ratings, it was possible to verify the relation between favorable words and therapeutics evolution. Kids treated with not favorable words showed slower evolution than kids that were treated with favorable words. This research confirmed the value of favorable words to speech therapy evolution, optimizing the treatment.
