The Family Health Support Center as a workeducation integration area: the experience of the Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences school at Federal University of Bahia

This paper aims to describe and analyze the initial experience of the Speech, Language and HearingSciences School at Federal University of Bahia in a theoretical-practical course in partnership witha Family Health Support Center team (NASF) in Salvador, Bahia. The relevance of this experience isrelated to the inclusion of students in Primary Health Care, through Family Health Strategy, in whichNASF is inserted, besides providing that the students recognize themselves as qualified professionals topropose and implement health policies in primary health care in the future. The programmed actionsof this course, in accordance with the activities of the NASF, are presented, as home visits, groups ofpregnant women, attendance, NASF meetings and their meetings with the Family Health Teams. The mainresults of this process show the appropriation of students about the NASF team work, the identificationof some daily work challenges which must be overcome and the contribution of this experience to thecomprehensive health care of the users, showing that Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences maycontribute to primary health care in the reality of SalvadorDownloads
