Neuropsychological assessment in stroke: a case study

This paper aims to present and analyze the neuropsychological assessment in one case of stroke. A.B.C., male, 50 years old, high-educated, was evaluated due to his complaints regarding linguistic and executive functions. The computerized tomography showed an ischemic brain damage in frontal, temporal and parietal left lobes. The neuropsychological assessment included clinical interviews and standardized language, memory, executive functions and attention tests. Some deficits were observed: language (discursive processing, reading and writing, naming), verbal fluency, executive functions (cognitive flexibility and inhibition), visual scanning, speed processing, sustained attention and working memory.Downloads
