Abstract

This article describes two moments of a work with the hard of hearing child in São Paulo. The situation that existed before the two described moments was a traditional clinical work realized with the hard of hearing child after three years old before 1970. The first moment is the description of a proposition of work with children under three years old. There is a comment about the new purposes and the basic line of attention after 1970, culminating with the systematization in 1973. The second moment is a critical review after ten years of work. The changes which were introduced are analyzed during these years and conclusions were taken of this experience.
