O texto mostra o processo de mudança cultural experimentado pelo povo Kamaiurá (Parque Indígena do Xingu, MT), desde a chegada da frente agrícola até o estabelecimento do agronegócio na região e o modo como os Kamaiurá entendem a dinâmica da história e a permanência da tradição.

Abstract: The text deals with the process of cultural change experienced by the Kamaiurá people (Parque  Indígena do Xingu, MT) ever since the arrival of the agricultural frontier up to the establishment of agrobusiness and how the Kamaiurá understand the dynamics of history and the continuity of tradition.
