A emergencia do conceito de categoria
Reflexões históricas na filosofia do século XIX e algumas implicações

Este artigo centra-se nas investigações desenvolvidas no alvorecer da filosofia contemporânea acerca da origem das categorias na antiguidade, demonstrando que este debate é uma das marcas distintivas da filosofia do século XIX. Torna-se evidente que Aristóteles não foi o criador ex nihilo das categorias, mas o sistematizador de uma ideia já em movimento. A partir desse debate, emerge o primeiro indício histórico de uma distinção entre um conceito geral de "categoria" e aquilo que as categorias representam para Aristóteles. Tal distinção é relevante porque nos permite aplicar o conceito a objetos não restritos ao "ser" e reavaliar sua presença tanto no pensamento pré-aristotélico quanto em desdobramentos posteriores, como em Kant.
