EXPRESSÕES METONÍMICAS/METAFÓRICAS EM GÊNEROS DISCURSIVOS: FUNÇÕES SEMÂNTICO-DISCURSIVAS

Abstract

In this paper, results from researches on conceptual metaphors/metonymies are presented, as well as the respective linguistic expressions which are licensed and semantic-discursive functions of these expressions in three discursive genres. Among the genres investigated, in the project Metaphor, Discursive Genre, and Argumentation (MGDA), by me and the students whose research is/was carried under my advisement, only some results from researches already complete are presented here: on summary, police news, and scientific divulgation news. In these genres, we verified the use of linguistic expressions which materialize conceptual metaphors and metonymies, leading to an effect of removal of those actually in charge of the actions divulged, but this removal has a different semantic-discursive functioning.
