UMA ABORDAGEM SEMIÓTICA DE MITOS INDÍGENAS: INVESTIGANDO NARRATIVAS DE SURGIMENTO DO FOGO

Abstract

In this work we intend to demonstrate the applicability of French semiotics in the analysis of Indian myths. This way, we selected three different narratives of the emergence of the fire, which will be analyzed individually and then compared, in order to observe the regularities. Based on that, we want to show that the narratives have in common a performance of the acquisition of the fire by appropriation, and that this object of value is presented as not only desirable (modalized by want-be), but useful/necessary (modalized by must-be) in the relation with the subject.
