CONSCIENTIZAÇÃO LINGUÍSTICA COM BASE EM CORPORA ONLINE

Abstract

This article discusses results from a research work developed in an intermediate and advanced English course that aimed at using online corpora, discussing about linguistic description in the light of Corpus Linguistics, and promoting students’ linguistic development. The data presented derive from tasks for the use of online corpora and for language use awareness, and questionnaries answered in the beginning and end of the course. The results reveal that the participants have noticed the importance of real data description for the understanding of language use, have learned to use concordance data and have broaden their knowledge of English.
