UM COPO DE CÓLERA: A AFIRMAÇÃO DE SI E A DESTRUIÇÃO DO OUTRO

Abstract

We are particularly interested in some enunciative scenes of the novella “Um copo de cólera”, by Raduan Nassar. The theoretical support we have used in the analysis was the French Semiotics. In the selected scenes, a duel takes place between a young female journalist and a middle-aged man. In this scenario they attempt to assert themselves and destroy each other, their passionate subjects overcoming their pragmatic and cognitive counterparts. In this manner, the passionate device of fury is brought about in the novella by Nassar. This discourse manifestation of fury is the object of our analysis in this text.
