O DRAGÃO DA INFLAÇÃO CONTRA O SANTO GUERREIRO: UM ESTUDO DA METÁFORA CONCEITUAL

Résumé

This paper aims at investigating how the notion of conceptual metaphor can contribute to our understanding of the social construction of reality. To this end, one specific metaphor, characteristic of the brazilian socio-economic context, is examined together with examples of its linguistic and visual realizations found in the press. The theoretical background of the discussion is based on Lakoff’s concept of metaphor and Vico’s theory of myth.
