Abstract

This is an article which I extracted from the graduating paper of the course in Health Management: Public Health and Hospital Administration with an emphasis in Family Program, in Centro Universitário Brasileiro – UniÍtalo. In this paper, the research was about health plans and chronic patients. Throughout the text, it will be shown that, although it is the 21st century, where information and communication are vehicles accessible to most people, either by radio, television, Internet, health informative, etc., the educational process to chronic patients is a hard task. We have the impression that there is a blockade in our minds to the questions that imply “sacrifices” in favor of the improvement of our health, as exercising, not eating certain food and/or drinks that may worsen the condition, etc. This behavior is a complicating factor to the working team that takes care of these patients. Moreover, when it comes to the health companies, the management of chronic patients produces certain expense in the implantation of the program and during the following months, and an expectation of the cost reduction in a longer term. Each individual’s particularities compromise the objective of the program, once each one defends their own difficulties and interests.
