Abstract

On considering aging and death to the society, the theme ending is inserted in the reflection to the meaning of the subject`s existence. So, the objectives of this article were to describe the conception of aging and death to elderly, to identify the perspectives of the health professionals before the theme. It was made an integrative revision that looked for evidences in the BVS with the descriptors “death and death/elderly”, “death and thanatology”, “death and aging”. The results allowed an analysis of the scientific articles that have been categorized in: Approach of the aging and death to the elderly; Reflection about human ending; Analysis of death/dying to the nurse professionals. Finally there are varied reactions before aging and ending, depending on he conception of each one, according to her/his life history and how the subject inserts her/himself in the society.
