Abstract

This study aimed to discuss the possible interference of family relationships during the aging process, focusing on the perspective of elderly hospitalized at the Hospital for State Civil Servants. This is a cross-sectional survey, conducted with five seniors and their families. By means of an instrument that assesses the functional status of families, called the Family APGAR, it was found that families have a good family functioning essential for proper care to the elderly.
