Social relationships have been identified as a crucial coping resource in later life due to the increasing number of losses and constraints that characterize that period. The present review shows the characteristics of social relations in advanced age, with a special focus on centenarians, and confirms both their adaptative value and their contribution in enhancing well-being.Downloads
