Abstract

This study aims at presenting some reflections on the progress achieved and the limits in emergency care for the elderly, called chronic alcoholic, in a public health service located in extreme social vulnerability in São Paulo city community, representing a cut of results studies and practices involved in the dynamics of such service, as reflected in the presentation of a typical case study.

Doutora em Ciências Sociais: Antropologia da Saúde/PUC-SP. Mestra em Gerontologia/PUC-SP. Especialista em Gerontologia, titulada pela SBGG. Fisioterapeuta, com experiência clínica, domiciliar e hospitalar: Unidade de Terapia Intensiva (Fisioterapia Respiratória) e Centro de Reabilitação (Nero-Adulto); Fisiologista do Exercício (Unifesp, 2000).

Cibele Gonçalves, Universidade Paulista (UNIP)

Assistente Social pela Faculdade Paulista de Serviço Social (FAPSS-SP), atua na área da saúde e de medida socioeducativa de internação. Pós-graduanda em Psicogerontologia pela Universidade Paulista (UNIP).
