The violence against elder falls within the guidelines of scientific research, given the magnitude of the problem and the importance of understanding the phenomenon. Therefore, this study aimed to identify and compare the social representations of violence against the elderly of student public and private city Parnaíba (PI). It was observed that the representations of social actors were anchored on the need for information about the aging and their implications for the phenomenon of violence against the elderly in order to emphasize measures to prevent conduct in relation to this act process.
