Gatherings of professionals in rehabilitation and elderly with dementia - Impact and discoveries in volunteer work at a Day Centre

The study included 15 individuals, 5 males and 10 females, with an average age of 85 and all with a diagnosis of dementia. The methodological approach consisted of the insertion of the researcher within the group, observed for 9 weeks, with survey instrument identified as Field Journal. In terms of results, it was found that the area of Social Gerontology strengthens the CDI-AFAI by providing broad and transverse reflection on the findings and implications of your work. This study was relevant to show a space for dialogue and debate on the challenges posed by the longevity of the elderly frail, before the biopsychosocial concept of aging.
