Abstract

The paper presents theoretical considerations about the experience and coping of aging, as a process and representation, associated with illness and the need for family and / or specialized care. In this context, the articulations between elderly people, current aging models, cancer sickness and a reflection on the care sought for this growing portion of the population are built.
