This study aimed to identify and characterize ethnographically the homosexual apps in terms of the appearances constructed by its users and the opportunities for social engagement available to seniors. An ethnographic method was used. The apps, investigated in 2014, were: Grindr, Scruff, Bender, Growlr, and Recon.
