The efficacy of the psychosocial assessment and intervention on successful aging is based on programs that promote the optimized person-developmental contexts interaction. To achieve this goal, conceptual tools are needed to guide the assessment of community resources to facilitate aging in place evidence-based practices. The aim of this article was to discuss the global assumptions of the applied developmental science and how these assumptions may be applied in the assessment of community resources and strengths in order to foster adult development and successful aging.
