The present study proposed verify whether the exercises PNF influence on the variation in systolic and diastolic blood pressure (SBP and DBP) and peak expiratory flow (PEF) in healthy elderly women.: We collected information present in the evaluation sheets of medical records related to anthropometry, blood pressure and peak expiratory flow of 15 elderly women who underwent exercise in upper and lower limb patterns in the diagonals of the PNF. The immediate effect was after exercise an increase in SBP and DBP and a decrease in PEF. The late effect of exercise in PEF, observed a significant increase. It is observed that an exercise program using PNF techniques is beneficial to the cardiovascular and respiratory systems, providing health psychosocial benefits; besides promoting wellness in here involved elderly, it causes a socialization of these old, making them part of the experiences of a group, reducing its isolation, certainly thereby contributes to a better quality of life for them.
