This article aims to get to know about the support that Brazilian families are having to care for their elderly relatives and the role of the Social Centers, Centers Day and long-stay institutions for the elderly in such care. References related to day centers, are few, since it is a new service modality. Already references to ILPIs lead us to rethink this type of care they stripped us of entrenched prejudices.
