The aim of the study was to evaluate whether the fear of falling is related to episodes of recent and/or old falls. Cross-sectional study with 78 elderly, being applied to Falls Efficacy Scale – International adapted to Portuguese and collecting the history of falls. The elderly were divided into groups according to the number and timing of falls; and comparison tests were conducted.
