Abstract

Because more people are growing older, the number of retired elderly has increased. Also, studies show that, in general, retirement has a negative connotation in our society. In this context, the concept of "desaposentação", which has not been legally approved yet, claims to define the reintegration of retired older adults into the labor market. The purpose of this study was to analyze the "desaposentação" under both jurisprudence and social security perspectives, as well as to relate it with possible biopsychosocial benefits that come along when old people go back to work.
