The use of Information and Communication Technologies in everyday living by elderly participants of the Open University of the Third Age at University of São Paulo

This paper is intended to know how the elderly use Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in their everyday living, the motivations why they adopt them and the difficulties in handling. Semi-structured interviews were conducted with elderly participants of the Open University of the Third Age. There were heterogeneity related to the level of independence and autonomy in using the ICTs among the elderly. They mentioned different aspects that contribute to the difficulties to handle the ICTs.
