Motor aptitude of the oldest old - cognitive and socioemotional implications

The objective of the study was to identify general motor aptitude and motor aptitude in specific areas of human motricity in the elderly aged 80 years and over. In the general motor aptitude most of the elderly was classified below normality. Global coordination, balance and body schema were the domains who presented the worst results. It was concluded that the oldest old presented a motor deficit associated with cognitive losses that may negatively imply emotional and social aspects during a retrogenesis.
