Abstract

ABSTRACT: The objective of the study was to evaluate the psychometric properties of Pinto Spirituality Scale and Pais-Ribeiro in the elderly. The sample was of 400 elderly people living in a metropolitan city of São Paulo, Brazil. The solution of the two factors of the scale explained 72.6% of the total variance; the overall alpha coefficient was 0.81; to the convergent construct validity, homogeneity and contrasting groups presented satisfactory results with values of p <0.01. The Scale presented reliable and valid metric properties to be applied in the elderly.
