Abstract

In this article the Trabalho Social com Idosos research - realization of the SESC São Paulo in partnership with the Centro Brasileiro de Análise e Planejamento/CEBRAP - is starting point for identification of elderly assisted by Sesc São Paulo, considering that quantitative and qualitative research provide important references for the actions of social programs and to reflect on the relevance of the action. Recognition of Trabalho Social com idosos, created in 1963, the socioeconomic profile , stereotypes and social demands of the elderly are part of this reflection proposes a dialogue with other important research that has the senior citizen as the center: Idosos no Brasil and Hábitos Culturais dos Paulistas.
