Abstract

The considerable and fast aging of population, followed by changes in the social and health profile, and psychological aspects, call for strategies and structures on attention and care for the aged. An emerging demand is the Long-Term Care (LTC) Institutionalization for the aged. In this article, the following subjects will be discussed: conceptual models of care for the aged, including LTC Organizations, the vulnerability of the aged in LTC Organization and how the strategic, therapeutic and didactic planning of the aged service organizations meet activities which contribute for the increase of resilience. This article ends with the presentation of an experience of a philanthropic LTC Organization of Campinas.
