Analysis of death and dying from Gilberto Gil´s song, "I have no fear of death": A qualitative study

Abstract

Death and Dying are covered in the song "I am not afraid of the death" of the singer, composer and instrumentalist Gilberto Gil, whose verses and stanzas were analyzed in the present study, through content analysis. Physical and biological aspects, psychological issues, natural phenomena and the nostalgia that remain after death, were approached and we observed that death still enters the social environment as something bad and devastating and that to think about death itself or to follow life without the people who love each other becomes an arduous task for those who never wanted to face the reality that everything has a beginning, middle and end.
