This cross-sectional, retrospective study characterized the epidemiological profile of elderly patients with proximal femoral fracture (PFF) treated in a hospital of high and medium complexity. Data were collected from the medical records of the elderly with FPF attended in the year 2016. There was a predominance of females, with a mean age of 78.1 years, browns, widows, with low level of education, submitted to osteosynthesis. The most common type of fracture was the neck of the femur, the fracture mechanism being the fall of the height itself. The mean number of hospitalization days was 8.4 (± 5.9) days and the mortality rate was 2.2%.Downloads
