Analysis and characterization of an elderly population with hearing loss and dizziness complaint

The objective of this study was to analyze and characterize the clinical and sociodemographic relations of a population of elderly people with hearing loss with dizziness reference. A cross-sectional study of 150 elderly with hearing loss without sound amplification in the Unified Health System. They answered a questionnaire about sociodemographic and clinical characteristics, self-reference questions of hearing and dizziness, Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS) and Scale of confidence in the Activity-Specific Equilibrium (ABC). It was possible to verify that there are specific characteristics about dizziness that influence the prevention of falls in the elderly with hearing loss.
