This study analyzed the association between religiosity / spirituality (R / E) and functionality in the elderly through a systematic review. The searches were performed in the electronic databases PubMed, Scopus, PsycInfo and in the references of the selected articles: originals, in Portuguese, Spanish and English, including studies published in the last 10 years, with the descriptors selected from the list of Health Sciences Descriptors. (Decs), following the recommendations of the PRISMA Declaration. Based on the findings, it was possible to verify that there is a positive relationship between R / E and functionality in the elderly, in addition to identifying dimensions of R / E, which may promote better functionality. However, this topic should be further investigated.Downloads
