The aim of this research is to discuss the experiences of hospitalar internment from the elderly’s perspective. We’ve interviewed three interns from the geriatric nursery ward of a hospital. The interviews were non-directive and transcribed as stories. Using qualitative methods, the contents were analysed based on a key concept from the Person Centered Approach, the self. The testimonies allowed us to understand that the perception of the hospitalar internment is more related to the patients’ selfconcept then to external events.Downloads
