Older caregivers: perceptions about caring for others and the influence in the quality of life

This article aims to characterize the socioeconomic profile of a group of elderly people who care for the elderly in the city of Santa Maria / RS and to analyze how these caregivers perceive their quality of life. The snowball technique was used to find the participants, with seven caregivers taking part in the research. There were findings regarding satisfaction with the caregiver occupation, the influence of the occupation on daily life and the understanding of caregiver support groups.
