The objective was to investigate the influence of polypharmacy on the body balance of elderly individuals. Cross-sectional study, with application of the instruments: sociodemographic data, history of falls, medications and sensory organization test (SOT). The polypharmacy group showed greater displacements in the ML direction in conditions 4, 5 and 6 (p = 0.024; 0.022 and 0.027) than subjects without use.
