This study aimed to characterize the scientific production on the use of music in the care of the elderly, from an integrative review of different databases LILACS, MEDLINE, SciELO, BDENF and PubMed. The final sample consisted of 22 studies. The use of music was observed in the elderly with diseases that often result from old age, such as high blood pressure and dementia. The results obtained suggest that music has a positive effect to reduce pain, anxiety and dementia symptoms.
