Self perception of aging and its relationship to psychological gender profile

The self-perception of aging is a determining factor of the individual's state of health, as well as the self-concept constructed of his personality. The aim of this study was to evaluate the psychological profile of genders as potential to influence self-perception of aging. Cross-sectional and descriptive study using the QAPE Aging Self-Perception Questionnaire in 224 seniors from Brasilia, DF. It is concluded that perceptions of aging are built by cultural patterns.Downloads
