Intergenerational Conflicts in the Family and Mental Health of the Elderly

With a emphasis on intergenerational conflicts in the family, this qualitative, narrative review study aimed to describe its relationship with the mental health of the elderly, based on the solidarity-conflict and ambivalence paradigms. This analysis highlights the importance of the emotional quality of relationships, the impact of conflicts on mental illness and suffering, and the challenges and strategies for facing them, by families and professionals in the field of Gerontology.
