Abstract

This project intends to carry out cross-cultural adaptation of the scale of social networks Lubben (LSNs-18) for Brazilian Portuguese. This scale is an instrument widely used to assess the social integration and the risk of social isolation in elderly residents of a community. Social support can be defined as the material and psychological resources available to the individual through their social networks. It is important to create support for the elderly policies considering how to integrate, complement or contradict the support from the formal or informal support networks. In the present context, it is necessary to use of social networking reviews that are practical and simple in terms of the time of application and analysis.
