Abstract

The objective of this work was to perform a historical-bibliographic survey on the influence of Simone de Beauvoir, especially her work entitled The Coming of Age, in the Brazilian literary production on the themes of old age and aging. Several Brazilian authors have dialogued in their books with Simone de Beauvoir, accepting the invitation of the French author to break the inhuman silence and thus not allow the elderly to be considered as outcasts and separated from society.
