This article aims to explore enablers and barriers in the implementation of centered care in older people. From the research carried out in English, Spanish and Portuguese, in the databases EBSCO-PSY / ASC, PUBMED, SciELO and B-on, 27 articles were included for narrative review of the literature. The information was organized into six domains and made it possible to understand the aspects that influence the development and maintenance of practices centered in older people living in long-term care facilities.
