This article rescues the history of the Collection Cadernos do povo Brasileiro, published in Brazil from 1962 to 1964, which sold around one million copies. Its objective was to circulate texts with ideas and strategic and tactical paths for the Brazilian revolution. The repression triggered by the 1964 military coup closed the Collection and destroyed the three institutions responsible for its production and dissemination: ISEB, the CPC of UNE and Civilização Brasileira Publisher. The Collection faced strong anti-communist organizations such as IPES, IBAD and LIPL. The article discusses the topicality of the Collection in the face of contemporary Brazilian confrontations with far-right forces, in increasing re-articulation since at least 2010.
