Abstract

This article pretends to expose the disagreements between the poet and philosopher Friedrich Schiller (1759-1805) and the theatral director, playwriter and theoric Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956) about the moralising role of the theater. Taking as reference some of the main aesthetical thoughts in modern and contemporany philosophy, it is intended here to raise a discussion about a purely aesthetical efficacy of the art and about the possibility of improving the art using heterogeneous elements.
