Abstract

This article sought to reflect on the possibilities of art as a space for dialectical experimentation in theater, and especially in cinema, based on the intellectual relationship between Bertolt Brecht and Walter Benjamin, which yielded a constellation of notions and concepts that we use to present the connections between the two interlocutors' conceptions of art and politics. We discussed the main procedures of Brecht's epic theater and Benjamin's critical reading, as well as exposed the possible consequences of this influence on the latter's thinking about the potentialities of cinema as a new aesthetic field capable of teaching the masses to reestablish the rules of the game with technique and nature.
