This article discusses political poverty in Brazil, based on some foucauldian philosophical interventions on political ascetics, fascists and biopolitical governmentality, based on the analysis of the most recent mayoral and city council elections in 2024 in Brazil. This text argues that poverty is also political poverty. Two situations were presented to help this approach: ecopolitics and education. These analyses served to exemplify the neglect in which this governmentality, combined with poverty, leaves us in situations of political and, consequently, social impoverishment. Not as a conclusive result, but as a prospect, education was credited with a possible way of combating what we call political poverty in Brazil.
