Considering the most recent publications from Michel Foucault's estate, especially his 1949 dissertation on Hegel, published in French in 2024, the article proposes a re-evaluation of the role that Hegelian philosophy played in his analysis of modern philosophical discourse, marking the differences with the project taken on by archaeogenealogy from the 1960s onwards
