Abstract

In the face of a globalization scenario where competitiveness is extremely lively and measured by international parameters, it is clear that the internationalization process of Brazilian companies, regardless of the model by which it occurs, can be seen as a necessary or even inevitable phenomenon for the longevity of these companies. Management control systems appear as one of the most important points for the adequacy of quality, cost, service, and other dimensions to international standards. This contextualization sets the link between the internationalization process of national companies and their management control system. In this process, the implementation of a management control system must be conducted in order to enable companies to be internationally competitive and also meet the requirements of a global economy. Given the importance of the subject, in this article, we aim to identify the historical and bibliometric panorama about the academic production in the formation of Masters and Doctors in order to identify any tendency in the studies of the Brazilian academy regarding the theme of management control in the internationalization process of Brazilian companies, based on the publications inherent to the theme in the Brazilian Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD).
